Delete your account

You can delete your The Movie App account at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. Deletion is permanent: it removes your account and the content attached to it, and it cannot be undone.

Which app and which developer this applies to

This page applies to The Movie App on iOS, published on the App Store by Luis Rico under the bundle identifier com.greenapsis.movieapprn, and to The Movie App on Android, published on Google Play by AES VC, S.A.P.I. de C.V. under the package name com.greenmovies. Both apps sign in to the same account on the same backend, so deleting your account on one platform deletes it on the other as well.

Delete your account from inside the app

If you still have the app installed, this is the fastest route and it runs immediately.

Open The Movie App and sign in with the account you want to delete.
Open the Profile tab.
Scroll to the DANGER section at the bottom of the list.
Tap Delete Account, then type the confirmation phrase shown on screen, which is Delete account.

The confirmation phrase is shown in the language your app is set to. Once you confirm, the deletion starts immediately, you are signed out, and it cannot be undone.

Delete your account without the app

You do not need to install or reinstall the app to have your account deleted. Write to privacy@themovieapp.com from the email address on your account, or tell us the phone number you sign in with, and ask us to delete it. The button below fills in the subject line for you.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it: we reply to the email address or phone number registered on the account and ask you to confirm from it. We never ask for your password or for payment details. Once verified, the deletion is completed within 30 days, and we confirm by email when it is done.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

Your account itself and every way of signing in to it: your phone number, your email address, and your Apple or Google sign in.
Your profile: display name, username, photo, biography, and your public profile page.
Your lists and everything saved in them, your ratings, your comments and your reactions.
The people you follow and the people who follow you.
Your Swipe and Match sessions, invitations and votes.
Your conversations with the in-app AI assistant.
Your push notification tokens, your notification preferences and history, and your entry in the contacts directory used to suggest friends.

Where your name appeared inside a notification already delivered to someone else, the text is rewritten to a neutral label such as Deleted user, in that person's language. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the app's access to your Apple ID. For accounts that signed in with Apple before August 2026 we may not hold the credential needed to do that for you, and you can revoke it yourself on your device under Settings, your name, Sign in with Apple.

What is kept, and for how long

A small amount of data survives the deletion. None of it identifies you, and each item is either required by law or expires on its own:

Anonymized subscription and revenue records	Statutory accounting and tax obligations. The link to your account is removed, and these rows carry no name, email address, phone number or device identifier. We also ask our payment processor to delete its own customer record for you. Identity-free activity logs, such as which titles a screen showed you and which cards a deck served	Product quality and abuse prevention. The link to your account is removed when the account is deleted.	Deleted automatically after 90 days, or after 180 days for the log behind the movie roulette.
Notification delivery logs, meaning that a message was sent and whether it was opened	Delivery diagnostics, and the per-device limit that stops us from sending you too many messages.	Deleted automatically after 180 days.
A record that your deletion happened	Proof that we honoured your request. It holds an internal identifier and timestamps, and no name, contact detail or device identifier.	Kept indefinitely.

These windows are enforced by automated jobs on a fixed schedule: the activity logs are swept daily, and the notification delivery logs are swept once a month, so a record may survive its window by up to a month before the sweep reaches it. They are not a promise to review anything by hand.
